While NH is known for its high tech and tourism industries, the agricultural sector continues to be an important contributor to the states economy. New Hampshires agricultural industry generated approximately $750 million in revenues in 2003. here are 3100 commercial farms in NH including 174 dairy farms that produce more than 40 million gallons of milk. Commercial farms manage 150,000 acres of cropland. Approximately 250,000 acres are devoted to pasture, maple & Christmas tree production; conservation; and other agricultural uses. Internationally, NH exports more than $134 million annually in food and agricultural products.
